The executed cabinet (Coll. Glasgow School of Art) was stained green; the pendant leaf motif hanging from the bottom of the cupboard proved fragile and has since been broken off. However, Mackintosh developed this stylistic device, transforming it into a characteristic dip, based on the swooping bird motif and incorporated it on later works, at the lower apron or stretcher.
