Notes:
The fireplace was designed for the Mackintoshes' first home at 120 Mains Street and subsequently taken with them to Florentine Terrace in 1906. It was amended to accommodate the narrower, projecting chimney wall by the addition of shelving at either side. The image shows the item on public display in The Mackintosh House at the Hunterian Art Gallery.
