This handsome four-poster bed was designed as part of the bedroom furniture along with the cheval mirrorr (GLAHA 41230) as part of a bedroom suite for the Mackintoshes' flat at 120 Mains Street, Glasgow, where the couple set up home after their marriage in 1900. The centre-post at the base is a particularly rich design. The hangings are replicas, based on photographs of the untraced originals.
