Notes:
The Mains Street drawing-room fireplace surround was later relocated to Florentine Terrace. The individual components are simple in form, but the whole gains presence through its scale - it is over 2 metres wide; and vitality through the fall of light on its broadly modelled, white-painted surfaces.
