Mackintosh brought this fireplace surround from his flat at 120 Mains Street, Glasgow, to his new home at 6 Florentine Terrace, Glasgow. As it was too narrow to fill the fireplace wall in its new location, Mackintosh simply but effectively added open shelving at either side.
