Notes:
Miss Cranston and her husband Major Cochrane lived at Hous'hill, Nitshill, Glasgow. Around 1904 they commissioned Mackintosh to decorate and furnish the principal interiors. This design is almost as executed. Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh most probably made the runner. Similar textiles were used in the Mackintoshes' dining room at 120 Mains Street, 1900, and later at 78 Southpark Avenue.
