Notes:
H. Bruckmann, editor of 'Dekorative Kunst', illustrated Mackintosh's work in the November 1898 edition of his publication. The commission for the cabinet probably dates from this time. The decorated panels indicated in this sketch do not appear on the contemporary photographs of the executed piece. The scheme for the dining room was dark wallpaprer, fitted furniture, a white ceiling and a stencilled frieze.
