Mackintosh built a two-level, hipped-roof extension at the Willow, which contained the Back Saloon and a Gallery. The executed pieces differ from this design: the sides of the chairs were altered to be upright rather than splayed and Mackintosh changed the single curved aperture to two squares cut above and below the seats.
