See GLAHA 41832. The upper part of the design shows detailing for panelling in the stairwell between first and second floors. In the lower part is a proposal for the studio fireplace. Fireplaces were an important focal point in a Mackintosh interior. Here Mackintosh made it an integral part of the wall plane by fitting shelving either side and adding a decorative panel above. This drawing was probably done to Mackintosh's specification by an assistant in the Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh practice.
