Notes:
A remarkably conservativ design for its date, the ornate decorative embellishments have the appearance of an afterthought. Only the treatment of the upper storey, with its ogee towers and sinuous carved window mouldings, is characteristic of Mackintosh's more innovative work. A flap on the Buchanan Street frontage opens to reveal an alternative glass frontage.
