Notes:
Mackintosh's drawing, with colour notes, is of a roof truss with ridge board and purlin from the four-bay Perpendicular Gothic king-post nave roof. It shows this impressive feature before it was covered up for much of the 20th century. The ornamented timbers with pierced quatrefoils in the spandrels were rediscovered in the early 1980s and subsequently restored.
