The Market Hall was built by the Lord of the Manor, Sir Baptist Hicks (1551-1629), in 1627. It has two bays with gables at each end. At top right Mackintosh has drawn the parapet and dormer window mouldings, at bottom centre the arch moulding, and at bottom right the moulding of the string course above the arch.
