This Cluniac abbey was founded by Duncan, Earl of Carrick at the end of the 12th -century. It stands next to the A77, about two miles south-west of Maybole. The church comprises a nave and a choir, both largely 15th-century. The doorway with its semi-elliptical arch is situated in the south wall of the choir. At right Mackintosh has drawn its base moulding in elevation and plan. The page has been numbered inaccurately in an unknown hand as page 32.
