CRE MACKINTOSH, Charles Rennie; (Scottish; 1868-1928)
pencil on paper
17.2 x 11.4
The Castle was the town house of the Kennedy Earls of Cassillis and dates from the late 16th to early 17th -century. It is an L-shaped tower of four storeys and a garret, with circular turrets corbelled out on the north-east and south-east angles and a stair wing projecting to the south-west. The view is from Maybole's High Street. The drawing probably dates from the same visit as 53012/23. The page has been numbered inaccurately in an unknown hand as page 36.
