CRE MACKINTOSH, Charles Rennie; (Scottish; 1868-1928)
pencil on paper
18.6 x 13.4
inscr. b.r.: "D. T."
The drawing is a study of the south elevation of the late 14th-century Perpendicular Gothic choir, taken from the south-west. Superimposed on this (bottom right) is a sketch of a clerestory bay with its open screen and cusped arches, behind which are recessed windows. To the left Mackintosh has added a study of the south-eastern transept with its long five light window and panelled buttresses.
