The work basket contains a range of fabrics which in texture and colour are entirely in keeping with Macdonald's practice. a) 1 piece of gold thread wrapped round folded piece of parchment (246.0 cm long) b) 1 piece of braid white satin with blue and black peacock eyes, 0.5 x 283.0, wrapped around tissued pattern pieces for a men's dressing gown with shawl collar c) 1 piece mauve velvet irregularly shaped, 17.3 x 27.4 d) 1 piece shocking pink silk, 13.5 x 24.0 e) 1 piece purple silk ribbon with black trim, 3.0 x 117.0 f) 1 piece pale mauve velvet (irregularly shaped), 26.3 x 30.2 g) 1 piece narrow stripped dark brown and white sleek finished cloth, 54,7 x 17.6 h) 1 piece cream velvet with selvage L.H.S., 24.3 x 21.3 i) 1 piece pink velvet with selvage L.H.S. & L.H.S., 13.0 x 75.0 j) 1 piece black fine cotton with white sprigged dots, 31.6 x 35.8 k) 1 piece deep purple velvet with selvage L.H.S., 22.5 x 22.5 l) 1 piece rubbed wool, 0.5 x 344.0, braid round a piece of card fastened with a pin
