Notes:

Mackintosh's version of the cabinet shown in this design is displayed in The Mackintosh House - see GLAHA 41254 - and is one his most sophisticated furniture designs both in terms of design and materials. Two pairs of candlesticks in ebonised wood with silver bowls were made from this design. The second pair, for Mackintosh himself, did not have mother-of-pearl inlay, and varied slightly from Blackie's set in the taper of the columns. The silversmith was David Hislop. Scale 1:12
